Things to do in Westwood...
Westwood is best known for it's village (Westwood Village) which is home to the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).  Five miles from the Pacific Ocean, consisting of 174 buildings on 419 acres, it is a community unto itself.  There is a population of 35,000 students living in proximity of the campus, in addition to families and professionals.  The UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television (TFT) is the only university in the country where the study of theater, film, television and digital media are integrated within a single professional school.  Many graduates have gone on to win Oscar, Emmy and Tony Awards.

The UCLA libraries rank among the top 10 in the United States, including one of the largest television archives in the world, and one of the nation's first film restoration programs.  The UCLA Medical Center is among the world's best hospitals and research laboratories.  It has been ranked number one for 16 years in a row since 1990.

There are many things to do and see in Westwood.  The Geffen Playhouse is a first-class theater company, featuring classic works along with novel plays.  There are several movie theaters in town, including the historic Mann Village Fox and Mann Bruin theaters, where well known celebrities have walked down the red carpet on opening night, while crowds gather round to get a glimpse of their favorite stars.  You will also find the Games of Westwood Arcade - a favorite for teenagers, along with sidewalk cafe's, shops, restaurants and boutiques.  There is always an awe-inspiring exhibit at The Armand Hammer Museum, which is free to visit all summer long.  In addition, the West LA Farmers Market occurs every Thursday afternoon in the heart of Westwood Village, and on Sundays 9am-2pm, at 11338 Santa Monica Blvd .
